The 802 calendar

Vermont has six seasons.
We work through five of them.

01

Mud season

April

The snow's gone and the yard's a mess. Beds get cleaned out and edged, and lawns get their first mow once the ground firms up.

02

Spring

May – June

Fresh mulch, new plantings and flower boxes out after the last frost. Lawns grow fastest now, so weekly mowing starts.

03

Summer

July – August

Mowing every week or two, trimming, and keeping hedges and beds in shape through the heat.

04

Foliage

September – October

Leaf-peepers come for the color; we come for the cleanup. Early fall is also a prime window for planting trees and evergreens.

05

Stick season

November

Bare branches, gray skies. Final leaf cleanups, the last mow, and brush and junk hauled off before the snow flies.

06

Winter

December – March

The yard's asleep under snow. Order flower boxes now so they're ready to fill in spring, and book spring work early to get a good spot on the schedule.
